Ancient Greek: develop your knowledge

This course follows on from last year's 'Ancient Greek for Beginners'. If you have previously studied some Greek but did not take that course, please get in touch to check before enrolling whether this is the right level for you.

In this course we'll continue working through the textbook that we began last year, learning more about the main grammar and vocabulary of the language, as well as reading more difficult passages.

There will be no exams or qualifications. Therefore, the level of this course is not comparable to qualification courses with other providers. Unlike modern languages, there is no speaking and listening element and our work in classes will focus mainly on developing skills needed to read short passages. You will also have a chance to practise reading and writing skills as part of regular homework tasks. This gives the tutor an opportunity to identify group weaknesses and to provide you with personalised feedback to help you improve.

You must have some knowledge and understanding of the language.
