Preparation for Entry English (EMIT)

Are you looking to develop your English skills and prepare for the next stage of your learning journey? The Preparation for English (EMIT) course is designed to help you build confidence and fill any gaps in your knowledge, ensuring you're ready to progress to higher-level courses.

• Choosing the right course for your level (Entry 2 or Entry 3). • Improving skills in reading, writing, and sentence construction. • Understanding everyday texts and filling in forms. • Developing writing skills, including grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. • Learning about online safety and effectively using Google tools.

• No formal exams. • Face-to-face lessons once a week (2.5 hours) at Leicester Adult College. • Access to online learning tools, including Google Classroom and Google Meet. • Timely attendance and a commitment to attending at least 80% of the course. • Weekly homework assignments to reinforce your learning.

To join this course, you should have: • Completed Entry Level 1 or 2 functional courses but feel you are not yet ready for the next level. • Participated in a Google Classroom session. • A smartphone or access to another digital device for online learning.

Upon completion, you'll be ready to enrol on a Functional Skills qualification course at the next level, building towards further academic or personal goals.
