Last year we held an online art competition to e celebrate seeing the signs of better things on the horizons as lockdown restrictions began to be lifted. The theme of our competition was ‘New Beginnings’. We asked people to think what this theme means to them and to translate those feelings through art. Thank you to everyone that entered the competition!
Learn more about the competition below in our announcement video by Kerry Gray, our Head of Service.
It was wonderful to see all the entries and to see how people interpreted the theme differently. Our categories were 2D Art, 3D art, and Photography. It was really difficult to judge the competition and pick us one winner from each category. So, we decided to showcase all the entries in our Café Gallery.
Our winners received a community learning course voucher to use for a course of their choice. Here are our winner’s artwork:
2D Art: ‘Morning Meditation’ by Durgha
3D Art: ‘Leaving the Invisible Cell’ by Nishad
Photography: ‘New Beginnings’ by Kirstien
Thank you again to everyone that entered. You can find the other artwork entries in our Café Gallery in our Belvoir Street college. We hope to hold more art competitions in the future, so keep an eye out on our news and events section.
