- How to help your child at home before they start school, so they have the confidence to settle better when they start school/pre-school in September.
- How to be more confident supporting your child’s learning across all areas of the foundation stage.
- How to make learning fun using games and activities to develop early language skills.
Learning is fun! This course will teach how important early learning is, including:
- Using songs and rhyme
- Sharing stories and making a Story Sack
- Early writing and mark making
- Get up and go – ideas for physical play over the summer holidays
- Early math games
This short course will help you to understand:
- The value of using play to support learning
- How to be more confident in supporting your child’s learning across all areas of the foundation stage
- How to make learning fun using games, activities, and story props.
By enrolling onto this course, you will understand the benefits of:

Family Fun with English
This course has been designed to support you to understand how to help your child at school and to develop your skills in speaking English.
The course is suitable for learners whose first language is not English. The tutor will adapt the learning activities to suit all abilities and needs after meeting you all in week 1.
This short course will support you to understand:
- Different ways to support your child’s English language
- How to be more confident supporting your child at school
- Practice speaking in English, so you feel more confident talking to your child’s teacher
- Creating activities and games to support learning English together at home in a fun way.
Family Health and Wellbeing

This short course will support you to understand basic First Aid skills to save your family’s lives including:
- What to do in an emergency
- Recovery position and CPR
- Treating bleeds, burns and bandaging
- Exploring aspects of health relating to your family so they eat well for less and have healthier lives.
This short course will support you to understand:
- Budgeting to feed your family for a fiver or less for your main family meal
- Involving children in cooking – so they eat what they cook!
- Aspects of health relating to your family.
Craft Christmas
This short course will support you to be creative together to:
- Create gift boxes from recycled paper and card
- Create new gift wrapping from old paper
- Find creative ways to make seasonal decorations
- Find ways to save money and still have great gifts
- Explore autumn and winter celebrations in different cultures

Too busy to be Bored
This short course will support you to understand how to plan a range of fun activities to do together in the summer holidays that:
- Uses recyclable objects for many different projects
- Maps a variety of activities on a summer holiday planner so your child can see what is coming up next
- Supports your child’s understanding of how the world around them works through activities linked to nature and art
- Helps you to choose the best resources to support your child’s learning in a fun way during the summer – especially on rainy days!
